President-elect Barack Obama promised the voters change but has started his Cabinet selection process by naming several Washington insiders to top posts.

Laugh, laugh! Change? Just what were you expecting. Yes he did promise no playing games and politics, and that he was going to start at the white house, that was part of his change. Yes he does get to surround himself with experienced people, and most of those people will be the ones who threw the most money in the pot. Come on, no one can be so ignorant and still be sticking their heads in the sand. This election was about race, money. Sorry kiddies but he didn't get the white house on your nickel and dime. NOW it's payback time for him and he isn't even official yet.
I am expecting change...once the poor guy is actually sworn in.
Paul Tenny
Just knowing GW and Cheney.... will be gone is a Hell of a Change for Starters...the rest
will follow as Knowledgeable people understands...after 1/20/09
There are good and bad changes, with that in mind get ready for the bad ones.
People are getting way off base here. Barack Obama will chose those who he thinks will best carry out his vision and policies. No doubt so far he has picked people that have a proven track record. Pundits will be pundits. The fact is, he had better chose experience rather than a new face who has no experience. This country is in the ditch, people. We elected the person who we believe will get this country back on track. He has the vision, now he will chose those who he feels has the experience and the drive to get us to where we should be. Now, you all can be skeptical and point fingers and talk about Clinton 3. The fact is, the last time that this country had any kind of prosperity and respect the world over was during the Clinton years. So, Barack should and has looked very closely at what occurred during those years. He won't replicate those years, but he will take the lessons of those years and do better things. Let the man do his job before you start hurling all this stuff. Whatever is happening today is the fault of Bush, not Obama. Put the blame where it lies now. You all have to wait to start the blame game on Obama since you don't even know the outcome yet! Let the guy do his job for heaven's sake!
Clara, you are so right, and as in this case, he needs people around him with leadership experience because he has none.
If Obama picks "new" people, then it'll be said that he's gotten "inexperienced" people to help him run the government (to reflect him). What we have here is a 'darned-if-he-does-darned-if-he-doesn't' situation. Obama can't win either way, so I'd recommend for him to keep doing what he's doing. If anything, I'm hoping these familiar faces will learn from any mistakes they made, and become better at what they'll do.
Clara and SAGGG
Both of you have very nice well thought out posts...and I agree 100%
Me too, Wilberta!
Government is complicated and to put people in it who are not familiar navigating it would not be wise. Would you want people who haven't a clue on how it works put in charge only to have their efforts thwarted because they did not follow the process put in place? Let's see what happens before being critical. The problems are so enormous that we must have experienced people able to get to work right away and not wasting precious time.
Has it occurred to any of you that if BO were to put some "non-politicians" into these offices that it might be a huge improvement? Put some people there that don't owe any political favors and have worked in the real world rather than the fairy tale that Washington has become. These people could have real world experience without the tarnish of government... the way it was during the time of our country's founders drafted our constitution and bill of rights. Those were real citizens, not just a bunch of stupid selfish politians. Imagine our government being run by real people that care about the citizens of our country rather than a bunch of stuffed suits that were just there to repay or collect on favors.
Obama: Same smell, different rectum. Wasting money by replacing public employees for political purposes only. Where are campaign promises to change the way things are done, not just waste tax dollars? Oh I forgot. You said those things when you wanted a job. Now that you have one, it's business as usual.
Nasty and crude is what got us to this point. Keep on topic. It is November 20, not January 20. So every time you complain about the political arena, it goes squarely back to the President, Bush, not Obama. Obama is not President until January 20, so shelve your insults please and go sulk in another corner. Thanks
Clara, Nail>>>>Head...smack! Kudos!
Clara,
Ditto!...."BRING IT ON"....very crude and stupid....because they DID...lmao.
He's not filling posts with "insiders" he's staffing his administation with "experience." Change starts at the top. This piece is a half-baked editorial.
The only "change" people might see is what they get while on the streets begging for money from all those Guantanamo Bay Detainees that obama pardoned & their familes that they brought in from the cave since because of the multi-billion dollar lawsuit that was rewarded to them made it possible.
Barack Obama is not President until January 20, and he has does not hold the power to pardon anyone. President Bush will be handing out pardons very soon, so you will have to wait and see who he pardons. If you need help in getting to live in reality, please seek psychiatric help immediately. You sound quite hysterical and really don't have a clue about Qitmo.
The only "change" people might see is what they get while on the streets begging for money from all those Guantanamo Bay Detainees that obama pardoned & their familes that they brought in from the cave since because of the multi-billion dollar lawsuit that was rewarded to them made it possible.
Wha the ??? You do know that Obama, as the new president, won't have the power to pardon anyone, right? And what the eff are you talking about???
Uniformed people drive me nutso!
There is a video going around called "How Obama Got Elected". It shows how the media failed to tell people who they were voting for. Most Obama supporters don't know how he got to where he is, who helped him, and the evil behind those people (Ayers, Soros, Wright). I know there are many radical socialists that support him. What is scary is how these elites use deception and prey on people's ignorance. They don't care how they get into office. They have no desire to help America or Americans. How can people be deceived into believing that socialism is good? It has never improved a country. It always has to be enforced by military.
Hysteria is unbecoming. You sound unhinged. I would recommend you seek psychiatric help immediately to help you see reality versus propoganda from a campaign that was steeped in racism and fear by McCain and Palin.
What do you expect from President Obama? How is he going to help this country? I think America is the best country in the world. I love it here! But, I think it's important to ask how it got that way. The foundation would be the constitution (It drives me crazy to listen to a liberal talk about the constitution. It's not hard to "interpret". I'm pretty sure very few have read it.) Another way it became great is from a strong, and brave, military. When evil threatened (slavery, communism, fascism) they stood tall and fought for freedom. Another thing that made America great is capitalism. This is the one that drives socialist mad. The American dream is to have freedom and opportunity to do anything. The desire to invent, improve, and innovate is driven by the dream of making it big - climbing the ladder of success. These three things - the constitution, military, and capitalism - are things the liberals, especially Obama want to eliminate. The constitution by appointing judges that consider the constitution equivilant to Charmin. He made a whole internet video about how he wants to drastically reduce the size of our military and get rid of our nuclear bombs as an example to the world. When you "spread the wealth" and reward hard work and success by stealing the benefits to pay off your supporters with welfare, you kill any drive to do better.
Good Lord, your delusional. Get some professional help.
I asked two simple questions. All I get back is name calling.
Biib, I agree with the basis of your argument, but one change that we really need for our future is more checks and balances on capitalism in regards to the mounting damage to our enviroment.
blb....in a government of "true" socialism there can be NO "elitism" because everyone is playing on a level field....make up your mind, if you can...you can't have it both ways...He's EITHER an elitist or a socialist.....pick now please, then stick with it...your bipolar rantings are giving me a headache....
Change does not occur by kicking out everyone who was there before and putting all new people in. Every therapist knows that change occurs from the inside out. 'Old people' respond to new ideas with new actions. It is not the people that are a problem, it is the thinking that occurs between their ears. When new ideas are introduced they are typically resisted because they are different, but over time will become accepted when a person (or group) gets used to them and sees their value. Obama, I believe, will appoint experienced people who he believes have the capacity to change their own thinking and to represent that change to all others involved.
This is HUGE CHANGE! Exactly the change we need!!!! Remember the last time that these talented politicians held power? Gas was cheap. There were no wars. The stock market was the only "surge" we ever spoke of. Good grief! This is huge change from the fear mongering, right winged neo con dictatorship of the Bush Regime. You need to stop these horrible Rush Limbaugh type stories now in order to save your credibility. What did you think he was going to do in order to be as effective as he promises on day 1, hire a bunch or trainees? Or perhaps, hire an "outsider" like Sarah Palin who doesn't know the difference between a Continent and a Country. I know, let's hire Joe the Plumber to be the Secretary of State so he can negotiate world policies like he fixes sinks. Honestly! What are you thinking to even write such a sensational headlines like this. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Liberals have short memories and tunnel vision. Kosovo was a war. The stock market doubled during Bush's time. It started down when the democrats got control of both houses of congress. Why? because your precious cigar smoker signed into law the subprime mortgage act of 1998. It is rumor that Palin called Africa a country, but we have video of your messiah claiming to have visited 57 states and having one left.
blb: Fact is, liberals memories are very very long. Also, do you not understand that when the stock market is up, that means that jobs, incomes, unemployment, and our domestic value is down! If George Bush doubled the stock market, then he made a lot of regular Americans going to work everyday, much poorer, unemployed, etc., and he made a lot of rich bigwigs even richer! If that's the kind of stuff you want to tout, then you don't have an audience from this "larger view, expanded thinker, long memoried "liberal". You might want to sing George Bush's praise, say in maybe the next millenium?
The stock market explosion was based on a foundation of quick sand, encouraged by the Bush administration and rich, white, Republican conservatives to create a false boom for their own get rich quick schemes. The corruption should be investigated, with more prosecutions.
Change can come in many forms. In the case of PE Obama the most important change is bringing in experienced, intelligent, open mined and very focused cabinet members to replace narrow minded, incompetent and Party/crony friendly Bush/Cheney figureheads.
The president and our government only have a limited impact on what direction business and markets in our country travel. Govt can help or hinder markets but overall economic forces are subject to their own dynamics.
Clara,
You are right! I don't understand what in the world you're talking about. The more I read what you said, I think you don't understand either. Unemployment through most of Bush's term was the lowest ever. It has risen over the last year. This is directly caused by the credit crisis which was caused by the subprime mortgage act passed in 1998 by Clinton. I am not taking up for Bush. He has stabbed conservatives in the back.
Cyn
If all else fails bash whitey. I agree that there should be investigations. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd would be in prison. You liberals kill me with this open minded, tolerance junk. Everyone that don't agree with you should be prosecuted? From your words - Rich (class warfare), white (racism), conservative (political bias). What do you call someone who condemns others for doing the same thing they are doing? Oh yeah, HYPOCRITE!
blb: I guess you just like making things up as you go along. I wasn't bashing "whitey" (you're word, not mine, making you the racist). The leaders of the Republican Party and most market manipulators are rich, white guys. Even you can't deny that, so its not racism, political bias or being a hypocrite. Sometimes the facts are ugly and not something other right wing (ultra, ultra, mine, mine) conservatives like to openly acknowledge.
Some more real facts, not your fantasy world: Unemployment when Pres. Clinton took office in 1992 was at 7.5 percent, by 1999 it was down to 4.2 percent. Bush inherited the lowest unemployment since 1969, by the end of his first term economists and job market experts say that the unemployment numbers do not reflect the number of people who had given up looking for work in the depressed market Bush created and the percentage of people who were forced to accept part-time employment rose by 35%. He had the most jobs lost in the private sector than any President since Hoover, as well as the lowest number of jobs created since the 50's. Basically job growth almost ground to a halt by the end of his first term and the trend continued in his 2nd term. Income for those working went down under Bush by an avg. of $1,000, under Clinton it rose an avg. of $6,000.
As of November 7, 2008, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for October was 6.5%. For Aug, Sept and Oct the job loss was 651,000. If the auto industry fails the math will be staggering.
Bush had 6 years of doing as he pleases, that vast majority of damage occurred in those years and his policies led us to the current recession. Two years of Democratic leadership in Congress wasn't enough to impact the decline, it was like a runaway train.
So, blb, I suggest doing actual research instead of repeating information from biased, conservative sources. I think even you would agree that the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistic couldn't be called a Liberal source.
And one more thing, trying to use the word Liberal like its a negative just isn't working. The people that care for the lower and middle classes are liberal, its more and more obvious the more I read these posts.
If he was picking a bunch of people nobody had ever heard of the McCainites would be going crazy over that as well. There is a fraction out there that refuses to be reasonable. There always will be. Remember that old saying, "You can't please all the people, all the time." So true. Especially those who love being all doom and gloom.
if he picked a bunch of unknowns, yeah that might be a problem if they had no qualifications. however, if they could do the job correctly and had the background for it, then at least we could say he is changing the way things are done. are the people qualified now? very likely... but we've seen them all before. that's not change.
What the heck does Gov. Napolitano know about security? Penny Pritzker for Commerce secretary? Looks like he is rewarding his loyal supporters.....Does sorta look like deja vu all over again with the Clinton retreads........It doesn't matter who gets elected, they all fall into the same old Beltway blindness. The government couldn't manage a two-car parade.....
Lucy: Gov. Napolitano will be a positive and productive addition of the Obama administration. Her experience with border issues and has a vast experience in Constitutional law and civil rights (a must):
By: Wednesday November 19, 2008 8:02 pm
Napolitano is well versed and experienced with constitutional law and civil rights, having been mentored as the hand picked protege of one of the country’s great Constitutional scholars and authorities, John P. Frank, one of the two legal fathers of the Miranda decision. She has sizable long term experience not only as the Arizona Attorney General (a huge office), but also as chief executive of an entire state government as Arizona Governor. Of critical significance, she was the US Attorney for the District of Arizona for six years under President Clinton, prior to her terms in state office as Arizona's AG and Governor.
The job ahead is going to, in addition to the legal skills, require someone with Federal experience and the established ability to manage a giant bureaucracy. Janet Napolitano has a very rare combination of background and experience to fit that bill. The attention to bureaucratic detail, not just in Washington DC, but in all of the 93 US Attorney district offices is going to have to be immense. Wholesale institutional change needs to be implemented, and malefactors rooted out.
Janet Napolitano has this ability in droves over any other candidate discussed for AG. She is spectacularly good at bureaucratic detail and getting big entities working as an efficient team. Janet has an incredibly feel good aura around her, and it is contagious to those working with and for her. She is a master team builder, both in terms of efficiency and competence as well as morale and attitude. Janet has already exhibited her turnaround skills in her transformation of the Arizona Executive branch, which was in shambles when she took over.
Additionally, as governor of a critical border state, and head of the National Governor's Association, Napolitano will have the credibility and experience with state governors that is necessary for many of the operations and coalitions that form the backbone of the DHS operation.
The best news of all is that there will finally be an honest and competent person in the critical post that Michael Chertoff has been defiling the last few years. It will will be good to bury the tenure of and put that era behind us once and for all.
She's a rising star in the party..could be on tap for 2016 to succeed Obama.
If you recall, The Clinton administration ended with a budget surplus. Take a look at the current republican adminstrations ending. No Comparison. So whats wrong with having staff that is accustomed to saving the country money. I think that might help the banks and the market, and the mortgage problem.
Clinton ended his term with a surplus because he gutted the active duty military and closed bases around the world. He turned his back when the USA was being attacked and our military solders were being killed all over the world. Hell, he did not even authorize the killing of Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance.
The training of the pilots that flew the aircraft into the World Trade Center towers happen while Clinton was in office. While they were planning the attacks in the USA on expired visas. Remember when Clinton and his staff left the White House they stole furniture & china, disabled computers, and left the intel briefs about the WMD in Iraq.
Clinton is the reason that our active duty personnel are serving tour after tour in Iraq & Afghanistan. Why the USA had to hire Haliburton and Blackwater to work in Iraq. Do not tell me how much better that POS is than Bush. IMO Bush isn't much better, but at least he is not renting out rooms in the White House, receiving BJ's in the Oval Office, and sticking cigars up the hired help. Or having lawyers killed because they are going to testify against him & Hillary.
The current credit mess is due to the failed social engineering polices of the Democrats. If you cannot understand this then you deserve what Mr Mutt is going to do to you during the next 4 years. You'al enjoy, in 4 weeks I'm out of here.
AC....like most repugs, you are full of BS! I seem to recall the CLINTON rigged ARMY actually going into and busting Iran. Even the repug politicos have admitted that FACT!
I love reading and listening to all the people criticizing Obama for picking all these old Clinton-era folks. "It's not change" - they yell.
Frankly, Clinton listened to that sort of talk when he first took office, and stumbled badly out of the starting blocks. Pres-Elect Obama has learned that lesson.
I'd rather he use "old" people and get things done his way, than have a cabinet full of people who didn't know their heads from their ass. He will need people whom he can trust will get the job done without him having to keep interjecting him self into every negotiation.
Which is what would end up happening everytime a "rookie" went to meet with the Republicans trying to get something pushed through. So we'd have the people "changed" but not get any of the changes that would help us as citizens.
Which would you prefer?
So by your logic there is no one else qualified that has not served in a previous administration that can do the job? If you want to change how things are done, you don't pick the old guard. new blood is needed. will rookies make mistakes?...of course just as the ones he picks now will. i don't want him to pick complete idiots. they should still be qualified. but they should at least be new...
Wow Paul! You are upset with media constrewed perception? How in the hell do you think he got elected in the first place? Notice how GM requested "loan" is being labeled on every newspaper and television news broadcast as a bailout? I have a Detroit Free press onm my desk now and it is the headlines. They feed us what they choose to further their own agendas.
Just a comment on a solution the GM situation, focusing on the automobile business not the finance biz. I understand the marriage between the two but for arguments sake....
A. Get rid of Unions (Obama wants to re-energize and empower them)
B. Build better cars (Obamas plans will cause them to find even cheaper parts, won't even mention the quality of labor)
C. D. E. F. G....... Build better cars you jack-a$$e$
We build crap here now, and the parts we import to save money are crap. With everything, not just autos. With Obama steering this ship how much worse will it get? Will my next car be made out of masking tape and plastic screws? I know my brand new american made A/C unit that i purchased 3 months ago already needs a new replacement motor, and the plastic housing on the outside unit is...well, plastic. That is the change we will get, but in exchange the used-to-be lazy unemployed guy will be honking in his new car as he passes me on my bicycle.
"I will not have lobbyist in my White House," yelled Obama. Lets see... Daschle works for a health care lobbying firm. His wife Linda is considered one of the most influential democrat lobbyist in Washington. John Podesta and his brother run a large lobbying firm that brought in more then $11 million in lobbying income in 2007. So, are they going to stay out in the garage??????
Hahahahahaaaaaa. Seriously though, amazing isn't it. I ranted for a long time on boards telling people they were being "duped."
For G-d's sake - by "change" I would hope Obama didn't mean filling important administration positions with neophytes, people with zero insider knowledge of Washington and how it works and how to get things done. "Change" means policy changes. "Change" means, in the words of more than one correspondent, "Brains are back!" Does anyone really think that Eric Holder as attorney general doesn't represent a change from the folks that gave us Alberto Gonzales? One thing became very clear about Mr. Obama during the campaign - he's a deep and thorough thinker who doesn't let himself be swayed by calls to do this, do that, go here, go there. He's steady, and he's REALLY smart. Now THAT's change!
You expect us to believe that there has been no pressure to put in former clinton cronnies and chicago pals and lobbyists into his administration? The problem is he said he would have no lobbyists in his white house and he's already broken that promise. How can he have policy changes with these people? We know what they did already. Holder released terrorist, drug king pins and tax evaders and blamed it on "lack of time to look things over closely." Podesta, Emanuel, Daschle have spent their whole careers persuading people to do things their way. What has he done to convince anyone that he is a "deep thinker?"
It's funny now that the next president is selected the media's honeymoon with him is over and they are already nagging at him in front of the public.
If he were to pick people that never had any political experience they'd be nagging at him about that. Anything to get a rise out of the Democrats that support him and the Republicans that already don't support him.
It kinda proves to me that at least this news source is not partisan in any respect. They want to cause problems no matter who is in charge. The CNN article on the same subject seems to me to be a bit more objective. This article is utter trash.
If the man can lead he and his team can follow he's only going to benefit from utilizing experienced people. When I want to reform my IT policies I don't go to Mcdonalds to get people with a fresh view on my information systems.
Healthcare reform is a big item for Oboma and was a dream for the Clintons too. Clinton's team didn't complete that process but at the very least they know what NOT to do this time.
The Carter admin was the same thing, and we know how that turned out. Obama is a puppet, just like both Bush's, Carter, and most of the presidents we've had over the last hundred-plus yrs. The first one to do real damage was Wilson, with the FRA (debt currency as "money") and two unratified amendments. This was the second public effort to make subjects out of sovereign americans. The first was the forced ratification of the 14th amendment (read the first sentence of that one, as it made slaves out of ALL of us). Since Obama is working for the global elitists, and not we the people, I foresee a day when we will lament for the days of both Bush and Carter. Please research "North American Union" (NAU, CFR), and you will see that our current situation was done by design and they ain't finished yet. Thanks for your time.
So if he picks people nobody knows, he get accused to using people that have no experience. It only makes sense to pick people for his Cabinet who are familiar with all the players in D.C. He would be stupid to pick only people who had to start at square one and he is not stupid, which is a refreshing change from the last 8 years.
Yes, a refreshing change from the last 8 years but not change from the previous 8. I am happy about it because I was and am a Hillary supporter. The same faces are taking over Washington again.
I think it should be a slap in the face to the Obama supporters that didn't know this was going to happen. If I would have speculated 2 months age the appointees that Obama is appointing I would have been laughed off the vine.
I think it is funny the Obama supporters are now having to defend all the Clintonistas that they "hated" during the campaign.
rwyn,
Your comment has been deleted for going wildly off-topic. This seed is for discussing Obama's picks for his cabinet, not for discussing congressional legislation.
He could have picked me, but I won`t serve. Enough troubles taking care of myself, besides I would be a rookie, a more experienced person would be more qualified.
I might have fit right in for GWB though? Could I have made it any worse?
No surprises in this article. Anyone who actually thought Obama would change the way things are done, raise your hand. Ok good. Now smack yourself upside the head and wake up. Hes a typical Chicago politician, run by the powers that be and utterly beholden to the people who got him into power. Would McCain have been better? I dont know, but it drove me crazy over the last few months watching idiot high school kids who arent even old enough to vote out on the streets holding Obama for Change signs. Look at his record people! He votes STRAIGHT DOWN the party line each and every time. At least when he bothered to show up at all. Whatever, its over now, and at least I can sit back and say I told you so. Hopefully Im wrong about him, I love this county and I would hate to see its spirit ground any further into the dirt. And if Im right, well maybe four years wont be enough time to screw things up too badly.
Yes, an empty suit that promises change. He looks different => he will bring about change. I bide you to please read my rather lengthy post above, there is the change he is planning and it is only beginning. You can check it, it is true. WTF?
You are right. No surprises from me. McCain would have been worse because he would have done the same thing. All the rupublicans that are there now would have stayed. They may have played musical chairs but by and large it would have been the same faces. Rove and company would run the country for the next 8 until all that is left is a third world country.
.
Clearly the hysteria over his choices amount to one of few things. Either it is a lack of critical (and realistic) thought; it is a whole bunch of manufactured outrage; or people who are desperate to find flaws and have begun the screeching that they will engage in no matter what. I am quite sure many of them would be screaming about lack of experience had he chosen newbies to government. So there is little need to engage them.
As for Democrats who hope and want folks who did not serve in the last Democratic (or democratic for that matter) administration to hold power in the last 28 years, get over it. Win an election (or have enough backbone to not let Rove steal them) other than the Clinton ones since 1976 and you might have a leg to stand on. Do you propose he use those who served in the Carter administration? If not, then stop the silliness. The reality is a president would be a fool to have the government run by people who have zero experience and are trying to figure things out as they go.
The last point also applies to the progressives who think some group of outsiders, new to government, or otherwise previously unknown folks should be relied upon to figure out the machinery of government during a time of across the board crises. Get real. I'm far left of the Democratic Party, and the thought of that kind of experimentation scares even me.
So the media has its juicy stories ranting about people who worked for the Clinton admin filling the Obama admin, but without any inkling of alternatives. Others make noise based on some unreal idealistic, Utopian notions, but that will not and should not happen.
So in the end, all of this supposed insight, misdirected angst, and manufactured outrage is a little irritating, but mostly humorous. There will be plenty of substantive things to complain about in the Obama admin. And, after all of this noise over things that lack substance, i will actually appreciate them.
Wow, lack of substance, do you not care that the PE and VPE are already fullfilling their agenda. Please read and check any sources you want relating my post above about the bill they almost have passed. It is an outrage.
SENATE BILL S. 2433 THE GLOBAL POVERTY ACT
Well-- it really does not bother me as much as it might others. The fractional increase in UN contributions, as a portion of US GNP, does not bother me. And the other stuff does not bother me because i do not believe anyone will be losing their Second Amendment rights, etc.
But i need to point out that none of that has anything to do with his appointments and the hysteria around those--- which is the lack of substance i refer to. As i said, i'd much prefer media coverage about issues such as the one you raise because they actually involve real policy and substance.
Just proves my point, You are a Sheep. You will agree to any concession for the sake of transparent ideals. Give up your freedoms and others to allow all of your worries be taken care of by someone else. You are essentially being taxed by the UN. Allowing foreign control of US military. Using international law to dictate American policies. Wow, you are a true American. I am certainly happy to have served so hard protecting your rights while you and others like you are hard at working desolving my own. Thanks.
HAHA! You are a funny little man. Actually, history has shown narrow nationalists far more like sheep than those who actually care about humanity. They are the ones who must cower and hide behind their walls for fear of not being able to make it in the world. To avoid being too extreme and offering offense, i won't go into specifics about the nationalists-- but it should not be hard to identify them and the parties to which they belong.
As for those you would call sheep, i will happily model myself with those who see the world similarly-- like Nelson Mandela, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Ghandi, and to take it to the extreme, i'll even include Jesus as a role model.
hehe. As a matter of etiquette, i know i should not say this, but i still have a lot of growing to do. You really do come across as a small, small man. A very scared small man. It'll be ok. If you cannot take care of yourself when confronted with the rest of the world, i am sure some good samaritan type will help you.
Actually, once again you reafirm most posts being made here about how a liberal must always get personal when attacked. You know nothing about me and I gaurantee you wouldn't say those things in person. You cannot take having flaws in your ideals pointed out to you. When my own are attacked, I reassert them with evidence. You vomit from your mouth without saying anything. I have been around the real world my friend, and you have no clue. I would also point out that I am posting to stir the pot and encourage the "hypocrats to show their true color." Quit frankly it is working. And I really don't care to change your mind because in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. We are all in for one hell of a ride. "Change" is coming.
this is how things work. What did you expect Obama to do folks, pick some Republicans to fill out his administration?
Actually yes. remember... "team of rivals" is supposed to be his inspriation. I would expect a couple repubs to be in there... not a bunch of people he agrees with. Remember he was going to be bi-partisan because he likes those dissenting voices? it is legitimate to critisize him for these actions because they are in direct contradiction to his previous words. he DID say he would change the way things are done... doesn't look like it so far.
Not a surprise. At all.
....."it is legitimate to critisize him for these actions because they are in direct contradiction to his previous words".......
You are right. He actions are in direct contradiction to his words. That was called the election process and now we are in the real world again.
