Gov. Sarah Palin has granted the traditional Thanksgiving pardon to one lucky turkey, but the video that shocked some viewers captured what was happening in the background.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

As a "Journalist" Palin should have set herself up better.... the story was supposed to be about "Pardoning a Turkey" and the gaffe is on her and her alone! Out of the corner of her eye, she saw what was going on but was so absorbed in giving the interview that she paid no attention to what the camera was showing! I'll bet she can't walk and chew gum at the same time either!

She was setup for this. She was giving an honest interview. Not a supporter, however, yes she could have looked around to see what was in going on in the background. How many of us know what is happening as we are interviewed. Focus is on giving the interview and the interviewer. When was your last dumb moment(s)?

Yes, even the camera guy had an idea it might look a little ignorant to stand in front of dying turkeys after pardoning one..  and asked her ... that should have given her a clue.  But nope.  Clueless Palin strikes again.

She was a threat and ripped to shreds because of it. All of the stupid blunders Biden made were completely ingnored. And Obama for all his change is just going back to the Clinton administration where a big portion of the economic mess started! I agree the backdrop was not in the best of taste, but the camera person could have gotten a different angle.

There are do's and don'ts  that keep this world in balance and with Palin, She has more don'ts than do's. Palin is just about the most absent minded person that I've ever seen in politics. If she were ever President, I believe that if she were told to push the green button to release the display of firewoks, she would push the red button to release Nuclear Bombs. She is just where she needs to be, back in Alaska, watching Russia from her window!!!!!

guess the dems and their accomoplices in the media are afraid of her future capabilities.  They asked her if she was okay with the turkey farm in the background. Did she know they were hacking off the heads of the birds while she talked. She was focused on helping the idiot's in the media with some nice little thanksgiving story.  She was being gracious and, wow, didn't realize what was going on behind her.  And, if the media, in particular, is so upset about the propriety of it, how bout the reporter and camera person saying "hey gov, not sure you see what's going on here.   maybe we coudl change the camera angle."  The camera person coudl have moved two feet to the right(WITHOUT ASKING) and none of that woudl have been seen.   They WANTED her to look bad.   MSNBC face it, you're democrat lackeys.   They shoudl have closed the interview saying "live with the governor from one of the the 57th states  (yes, said by OBAMA), this is Ms. X reporting"

        AK GIRL

Sarah Palin is not an unskilled Politician, she is an Alaskan woman.  It must seem odd that a woman can grasp the concept that you must kill an animal to eat it.  In Alaska, we like to eat meat which comes from animals which must be killed to eat. . . hum . . . what a concept.  Apparently, in the lower 48 this must not be the case.  Forgive our media for not sensoring the cycle of life.

        JOEBUCK

They think Obama makes the turkeys magically appear in the stores. They lead very sheltered lives you know.

Do anybody here realize the point of advertising???  You rant and rave about the killing of a turkey, but you remembered Palin.  She is still making news and people are still talking about her.  The next time she runs for office, people will not be asking, "WHO?"

Excellent point AC. She really isn't worth mentioning, but when someone who aspires to the second highest office in the land exudes stupidity I just can't help myself.

I'm not radical and I am not to the left; I am actually very conservative! I am also in no way "scared" of the likes of Palin....And I am proud to say that I am very happy to have been one of the millions of voters who got it right and sent her packing back to Alaska!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Palin will slip back to nothingness in or out of the news on the national front after Obama is sworn in.

As a woman, intelligent, college educated and working in the Criminal Justice field, I was insulted that McCain could pick a plastic doll for his running mate! If she is the so called "new face" of the Republican Party, the party will never figure out how to make any kind of a comeback because they will be too busy trying to figure out if you really can see Russia from her house!

I don't think she's stupid because she's (allegedly) attractive. I think she's stupid because she does incredibly stupid things.

It's like Al Bundy when a fat lady at the store asked him if the shoes made her look fat and he said "No! Your fat makes you look fat!" People think Palin is ignorant because she gives them so many reasons to think it.

You sound like a very angry person; I feel sorry for you. Making hollow statements behind a keyboard doesn't make them accurate. How about you put some substance behind your hatred and tell us 5 things that Sarah Palin has done to offend you. Please, no more "The point is she isn't VP" what does that mean? People make mistakes. Do you remember the last time Joe Biden ran for office and was caught stealing others speeches? I find that very offensive that the man who is a "heart beat away from being the president" is stealing someone elses thoughts and claiming them for his own. What else would he steal? Now please give me 5 things that Sarah has done to offend you.

                    I'll take that challenge:

                    1.  I have foriegn policy experience because I can see Russia from my house.

                    2. Palin in a speech about fully funding IDEA.  Where does a lot of that earmark money end up anyway? […] You’ve heard about some of these pet projects they really don’t make a whole lot of sense and sometimes these dollars go to projects that have little or nothing to do with the public good. Things like fruit fly research in Paris, France. I kid you not.

                    3. Africa is a continent.

                    4.  The countries that belong to NAFTA are Canada, Mexico and the US.

                    5. And last but certianly not least Joe The Fake Plumber

                    I could go on............

While wearing her $100,000.00 wardrobe, once again Palin leaves one's mouth open. MSNBC doesn't  need to make anyone look bad, Palin can do that all by herself. Oh! and the comment about Oboma and the number of states....at least he knows about where he lives and about Afica. How can you run for such a aigh office and not know what makes up North America and you live there? The dumb gets dumber and the ones who take up for dumbness are dumber. You know the saying," dumb, dumber and dumbest". Which one are you?

Palin can do it all by herself!!!! She has done it time and time again and if you had to count her mistakes on your fingers and toes, please borrow some extras from your neighbors. It doesn't matter what their wardrobes are worth because they paid for them themselves! They money did not come out of campaign contributions. HUGE difference.

Because unlike Palin it wasn't listed as an campaign expense. Since all contributions are legally accounted for as to where the money went and since none to the contributions were listed as having gone for wardrobes then the only logical conclusion one can reach is that they paid for their own clothes. Every dime of contributions on both sides has been independently audited by the government and accounted for, every dime and none of the Democratic contributions went toward clothing for the candidates. If you think otherwise then I invite you to prove it.

You are the one alleging that they paid for their clothes via campaign contributions, it's up to you to prove it. The GOP admitted that they paid for her clothes, but no one has said the same about the Democrats. If you have proof that they did then again, I invite you to show it. Until then we'll have to assume that if the democrats did pay for Obama's or Biden's clothes then the proper authorities would have made that public, just like they did concerning Palin.

As for the public records of where the money all went I suggest you look it up for yourself. You can be certain that the media has and would have reported any irregularities in either accounting.

How about asking an on-topic question? This seed is about turkeys and Palin, though granted there's not much difference.

I could care less about any alleged Biden plagiarism. He took a few sentences from a British politician many years ago without giving him proper credit. It was a simple mistake and in no way implies that he's a plagiarist, except in the tiny fevered minds of the right wing conspiracy nuts. That would seem to include you.

Oh and please, if you find something to "back up" your allegations, make sure it's from a credible source. You know, not FOX or Limbaugh or Drudge, but a REAL news source.

That is not rhetorical and is indeed an implication that you think think the money for Biden's and Barack's wardrobe may have come from the DNC, just like Palin's came from the RNC. Now you can try to weasel out of that if you like and I'll be happy to let you since it's off-topic anyway, but calling your allegations a rhetorical question is a flat out lie. You made the implication, but since you don't want to back it up, you're dismissed now.

You obviously don't know how to read so I will just let it be. I asked Rochelle if she knew how much their wardrobes were worth? <<< This implies a question. Goodbye now that I have been dismissed by one as smart as you.

Look son, you implied that the DNC may have paid for Barack and Biden's wardrobe. That's crystal clear to anyone who reads this thread. Then you couldn't provide any evidence at all of that off-topic implication. You screwed up. It happens. Now I'm willing to let you take your spanking like a man and just leave with a little self-respect left. Take it. You'll be a better man for it.

You stand there in your $100,000.00 wardrobe, while you pardon a turkey and others are being slaughtered in the background? MSNBC doesn't have to make anyone look stupid. Palin can do it all by herself!!!! She has done it time and time again and if you had to count her mistakes on your fingers and toes, please borrow some extras from your neighbors. President Elect Oboma has made a few, but the count is only on one hand.

                            Ladies and Gentlemen,

What you just watched was life... this was a turkey, but how do you think chicken nuggets starts out?  or Big Macs?  If you live in a city or urban area ask a 3rd grader where milk comes from, you might be surprised of the answer.

Gov. Palin  should have been more aware of her surroundings but honestly what you watched was a dose of reality.  I was more offended by just how dirty the birds were and I have a right because I raise them too.  The bird should never be that dirty, it isn’t healthy for them or you the consumer. If you think that was bad, this was a small farm so see how the butterballs are raised.

I am also offend and embarrassed by how we all behave.  Once, the media and the public respected the position a person held if not the person who holds it.  The camera person and interviewer should have intervened and change the angle out of respect for their audience and the Governor.

Do Palin haters really think.....she pardoned them all...and Turkeys just appear in stores with out killing them?  Once again this is just a silly attack on Palin by liberals in the media, specifically MSNBC, who hate her and fear her.

Attack? Why do some people see attacks everywhere?

Maybe it's on the news because it's funny to see Palin going on about uncomfortable campaign situations and all the other crazy buzz words she strings together while turkeys are being killed in the back ground by a leering worker.

Do you think just maybe she was making fun of all the people that want to stay in their sheltered little lives and think everything is made from fairy dust.
