I feel for his parents. 25 years ago I knew my friend tried to kill himself, but it didn't work. Then I was out of town and I got this phone call stating that he is dead. I still am affected by my reticence. I didn't have the guts to take him to talk to somebody, anybody.
25 years
It's very very tragic that a young life is gone !!may God give strenght to the family left behind !!. I just wish it didn't happen on a cam, I'm afraid it would give ideas to those who are mentally and emotionally or physically vulnerable !!
Theresa.................I apologize to you as well if I have offended you. I obviously do not belong here as some of these posts upset me beyond words.
Bi-Polar disorder is a hard thing to handle. For some it just becomes to much and things like this happen. Those that egged this poor guy on should be ashamed of yourself.
Rest in Peace. Your long journey is at it's end and a new one awaits.
Mr. Ea Tpoo: Many of us have posted pleas for you to get help, I am repeating mine. Don't ignore your own warning signs, please.
If you feel this way you need to find a therapist or other expert to help you right away. If your family is the only thing keeping you from following through there may come a time where that isn't enough, that you may feel they would be better off without you.
PLEASE, DON'T IGNORE YOUR OWN WARNING SIGNS AND RUN, DON'T WALK, TO THE NEAREST HELP. I don't want to read later that you were serious and we did nothing to try and convince you there is always, always hope.
You may one of the people who somehow makes it a better place for someone else.
As a Mother/human being my heart goes out to this young man REST IN PEACE. I'm sure his bipolar in part had to do with it with him feeling hopeless. My heart aches for our kids/teens not to have the life we did growing up... not that it was perfect but it was FUN and carefree for most of us. Remember playing outside all day and only coming in for lunch, dinner and bedtime? So many kids/teens these days need to worry about where their next meal is coming from or if Dad, Mom or family member is a drinker or drug user. I have a teen and computer time is limited so that it does not consume our lives! TALK TALK TALK to your children EVERYDAY and find out about their LIFE and what you can do to help! Most kids do not want "material things" they want "time" spent with a family/parent in the end. Tell your children you LOVE them everyday and make contact a hug!
This family has the holidays coming up and a very special person will not be there to celebrate... how did life gets so tough?
Technology kills. The internet. Our cell phones.(Texting on the roads or rails)Our Ipod's(preoccupied pedestrians) As much as technology enhances our lives it kills in parallel. This tragic event may have
happened without it but technology kills. May God bless his family.
First off, ANYONE who watched him commit suicide should be arrested and be charged on as much as possible. Why don't people understand that this was ALSO a cry for help and no one helped? His family should have known that he would possibly succeed one day for it is his bipolar. The family should have gotten him better help as many times as needed. There were signs that he would attempt again and the family was to exhausted I guess. I do applaud that one person who did try though it was too late and hope that person learned a lesson that no matter who it is with the words of killing oneself is not a joke even if it was played off. There should be no reason as to a person to say that if the feelings of worthlessness did not exist. As for those low lifes who cheered him on, well I hope life will deal with you in a way that is not pleasant. Now, for the other part of this, he is no longer in a hell in his head. With some people there is just no help for them for they do not want to learn the tools to do better whether it is with meds and counseling or one or the other. RIP lost soul, I hope you have found your place and I hope you are with God.
Suicide's on college campus happens much more than the public hears. It's sad, tragic and almost unavoidable once the person has their mind set on taking their life. I won't say the name of the schools, but I know of 5 students at 2 different schools from last year. Iwould hate to guess the number if given by all schools nation wide. My Prayers to the family, I believe his soul is at peace with God. For one to take their own life, goes beyond their mental control. In my life I've had 3 very close friends, one my brother in-law take their life. You always ask yourself if you could have only seen the signs, but no, there wasn't any. Regular people living with a pain that couldn't be seen. This young man was crying out for help, it came to late, very sad.
Anti-Kevorkian Law. In an effort to prevent Dr. Jack Kevorkian or any other physician from bringing "suicide machines" to Illinois, new legislation expanded current law on inducement to commit suicide to include the "physical means" by which another person commits or attempts to commit suicide. The law would not affect people who have living wills or fall under the Health Care Surrogate Act, which says that doctors cannot be prosecuted for failing to hook up to life supports people who have requested in advance that no heroic efforts be made in the event of terminal illness.
I wonder if this law or this sort of law, could be used to prosecute those who encouraged this young man, to end his life? Could the people who posted cruel statements or encouragement, be consider to have offered inducement?
What meds did he use? I want to make sure they are not in my home or Grandchildrens home. Please belive if you feel like taking you life if you will only go to sleep you will feel different in the morning. I almost did this my self when I was a teenager. I went to sleep and woke up with strength to go on. I have lived to an old age with a wonderful life and happy memories. Things do get better. I promise. So sorry for this terrible loss. I care deeply. Carol
OMG
I myself am a teenager and i really do find this disturbing, however everyone shouldnt be so upset but should take this as a wake up call that BOTH adults and teens should be taught a lesson of being more responsible citizens and HELP look after each other!! because what happened to other citizens that were beaten and raped in front of an apartment? or attack at a gas station? and yes "responsible, honest" citizens JUST WATCHED! Yeah it wasnt online it was WORSE in public!! their's been SO many attacks that could have been stopped before its to late but people just WATCH all you have to do is dial three simple numbers 911 and you could save someones life instead of letting them die and THEN call....
"Out of the mouths of babes'" an old addage that rings true. Thank you for your input.
