Ex-NFL star O.J. Simpson was to learn Friday how much time he'll spend in a Nevada state prison for a botched attempt to recover sports mementos and personal items from two collectibles peddlers.

I think the 18 years would be fine, as he got away with murder on account of stupid cops trying to force the case far f ing out its about time

How ironic. This is ricochet Justice. This man will play with the rope until he hangs himself. Another topic that would make an interesting story for the Twilight Zone.

However, his upcoming condemnation will not make me forget that he most likely got away with murder at his 1st trial, thanks to that overzealous detective and our exacerbated racial biases.

I will be mean and cynical by adding that further consolation could be that in jail, he may run into a huge mean beast looking for a girl friend.

I hope the sociopath gets life. He thought he could get away with anything he wanted, and it's about time he was taken out . He got away with murder, and he did it, the fact that an akita, one of the most protective dogs known didn't raise a fuss that night tells me the dog knew, and probably feared the murderer.

How about Ron Goldman's blood was found in OJ's Bronco?  The detectives and the prosocuters did botch the murder trial, but an all black jury let a clearly obvious guilty murderer go free.

Bye, bye O.J.  Don't drop the soap in the showers.

Ron Goldman's blood was never found in the Bronco. You people are hypocrites. You claim to want justice but can't see a set-up to save your life. They had to  get O.J. and did what they had to do to set him up. He will appeal and win and once again be free. It's amazing no one is crying for Phil Spector or Robert Blake's head. Amazing!!!! If OJ gets out he needs to leave this country as fast as possible.

Who the f do you think did it?

And don't forget OJ promised to hunt for the "real" killer himself. Apparently this "ghost" lives on a golf course.

Welcome to mini-putt in the crowbar hotel! Those 3 foot putts can be tough on concrete. Unfortunately the only hole in the cell is OJ himself.

And what kind of dope have you been smoking Tiger 1990???  Most Black people know he was guilty.  There are a few who will do anything to make a racial statement.  Sad when people can't see the obvious.  There WAS NO OTHER possible suspect in the Brown/Goldman murders.  NONE.

Most people didn't have an ax to grind with Simpson before the murders.  Most football fans were shocked by the crime and subsequent trial.  More people likely thought highly of Simpson before the murders.  Few thought he was innocent after the trial.  Seems you are in that minority.  Most people see him as a celebrity who was full of himself and thought he could get away with anything..even murder, and he did!  It had nothing to do with race but with a false sense of entitlement.  If he'd kept his profile low and didn't get into anymore trouble, he would only be guilty in the court of public opinion.  Now, thankfully, he will be sitting in a jail cell hopefully for a long, long time.  Get your head out of the sand.

Update: Here's what the was sentence was:

    1: 1 year
    2: 12-48 months (concurrent to count 1)
    3: 12-48 (concurrent to count 2)
    4: 26-120 months (concurrent to count 3)
5: 15 years (parole after 5) consecutive 12-72 minimum (concurrent to count 4)
6: 15 years (parole after 5) consecutive 12-72 minimum (concurrent to count 5)
    7: 60-180 months 12-72 minimum (concurrent to count 6)
    8: 60-180 months 12-72 minimum (concurrent to count 7)
    9: 18-72 months (consecutive to count 8)
    10: 18-72 months (consecutive to count 9)

Consensus seems to be that the minimum will be six years before parole, but that he might end up serving it all.

My point is that Spector and Blake didn't get the same reaction to their verdicts and have virtually been left to live their lives. I still say OJ knows who did it and will never talk. He wasn't the actual killer. Blake actually shot his wife at close range and walked. There is no way he could have taken Ron Goldman without more injuries than he had. Oj is a victim of his own image. He should gotten somewhere and sat down instead of trying to stay in the limelight.

Why do we have a justice system? Let's assume O.J really did kill Nicole and Ron, he was acquitted! What does this case have to do with that case. It is obvious, O.J. is being punished for those two murders. I believe it would have been the same if he had stolen two pencils. I agree totally with Tiger 1990...O.J. should have gone somewhere quietly and sat down, living happily ever after! Hopefully now, the Goldman's and Nicole's family will start a much needed healing process!!

I have to disagree. In a fair fight, i.e. no weapons, the opportunity to be mentally prepared for violence, sure, OJ would probably have got banged up a bit. Or Goldman might have actually cleaned the floor with him, we'll never know.

But somehow I suspect that being suddenly confronted with a very angry and jealous man who weighs what....200, 210, something like that, would be frightening. Now, put a knife in his hand. A knife can do hideous damage, and a knife did do hideous damage. The fear had to be overwhelming.

I mean no disrespect, I just disagree. I also think Phil Spector and Robert Blake belong under the jail.

Does this mean we won't have to hear about OJ for quite a bit of time. I will happy to never read or hear another word from the Goldman's either - GET OVER IT!!! Listening to their continual crying is worse than listening to OJ!!! Goldman needs to complain about the cops who pulled all the crap in the first trial - white or black - anyone would have gotten off with the evidence tampering the LA cops did!! Talk about stupid. A lot of people blame the judge and jury or make it a racial thing - had they actually watched the trial and what went on they would have seen so much tampered evidence they would understand why he got off!!! The cops were the guilty ones in that trail - they made it easy for OJ to walk!!!! Plus the two prosecutors who could not wait to get out of the courtroom each day so they could shack up in some cheap motel - what a joke the whole thing was!!!

O.J. murdered two people and walked. He likely thought that this case was less substantial than the earlier crime. This time, he underestimated the advancements in CSI made because of the last screw-up.  Justice is being served.  He better take a supply of KY where he's going.

He was an American Hero. He had such a kind and affable image, that I just couldn't believe it when I first heard about it. I thought, there has to be more to this. It has to be a mistake.

I was at the laundromat watching the tv when OJ's attorney read his letter. Right then and there, I was convinced that he did it. I have been in a dangerous and abusive relationship and I know those words. It wasn't really me. The two sides good and bad OJ. I loved her too much... All of it struck a deep cord.

However, I do not think that I honestly could have given a guity verdict, based on the Procecution's Case. Yes, I think the judge in this case is trying to make up for that. Which may make us feel better, but is not good for our system of justice in the long run.

Still, I do not pity him, because he had everything and it was not enough.  He just never seemed to be able to stop running with that football.  He just couldn't ever loose anything, or anyone. I hope that he uses the time for reflection.

His story is a huge American Heartbreak for him and for the people close to him and those who have been swept up in the force of his personality, who have suffered unimaginable pain and grief, because he just can't let go of the ball.

The prosecutors in the first OJ case made  two mistakes that lost that case for the people of California..The first was to move the trial to downtown LA. The second was when they didn't charge him with capital murder. If they charged him with capital murder he would have confessed so his sorry life would have been spared...

I am so happy that this man is in jail and behind bars.  I hate him, I hate him, I hate him…

                    1979… I was only 16…

I feel bad for Nicole and Ron.  I knew he was a mean spirited man when he picked me up on Santa Monica Blvd near the Wilshire Blvd intersection.

I weighed at the time about 90 lbs, blond hair burn survivor.  I wore make-up to cover my scars and stuck my hands in my pockets so no one could see them.

That night I was tired of walking, a small two-seater sports car (white or light blue in color) pulled up and offered me a ride.  He smiled and told me there was nothing to be afraid of.

I took the ride, and I was then forced to perform oral sex on him.  Afterwards, he tossed me a $20 and told me to get the @!$%# out of his car.  He didn’t even wait for me to slam the door closed, he just sped off.

But I remember that afro, that tight fitting (psychedelic) shirt with the big collar, long sleeves with big cuffs on them, and his loose fitting jeans slightly faded that he wore that night.  It looked weird, him sitting in a small built sports car and his legs being so long and sticking up by the steering wheel.  When he pulled into some parking space that was gated, I knew that something was up then.

He told me that I was going to like it.  I wanted out, but I had no idea as to where I was.  Where could I go, or run to.  The metal gates locked behind me as he pulled into this parking garage.

I hate him, I hate him, I hate him, and I am glad that he’s paying now.

The one thing OJ didn’t know about me was that I was not a female like he thought I was.

I hope he rots in hell, better yet, I hope someone in there takes him out for the piece of @!$%# he is.  I really hate him and hopes he dies a violent death in prison for all the harm he did to all the people he came in contact with.

Obviously it hadn't worked in his case for most of his life, so he thought he was invincible....Wish him long slow time in solitary where he can't charm anyone else...The devil is a charming liar. Peace be with you and I hope it helps you a little to see him finally pay for something, anyhow. Still, not nearly enough, I am sure.

Can't count the previous jury decision and charged he was acquitted on. No basis for that, so the judge will not go there, nor have any record of such charges as it would be inadmissible in the case for sentencing.

O.J., on the other hand, deserves whatever she gives him. He was stupid, and the home invasion style tactics employed were threatening, meant to be that, and were aimed at getting his stuff (alleged) and anything else's in there just for grins. Simpson, like Scott Peterson and the young lady in Florida, and Jorann whatever his name ... all sociopathic personalities whose hubris got the best of them. Good riddance. O.J. believed in his own invincibility and now the chickens are coming home.

Good luck, O.J. You'll find prison doesn't have golf courses.

You shouldn't under-estimate the incompetence of the prosecution in the murder case.

I remember O.J. from the 70's.  He had a great career and was viewed in a very positive light.  Pretty sad how someone can ruin their life for no apparent reason.

Looks like the judge went there, and did have record of the verdict in '95. Remember- just because it cannot be taken into consideration for current sentencing does not mean it will not be addressed, especially when such a high-profile defendant attempted to appeal the current verdict based on prejudice.

O.J might finally get his chance at a "hole in one."

Another prisoner is going to wipe him out for the notoriety.  Then after that, he will finally get what he really has coming.  Burn in hell O.J.

They cannot send OJ to prison. Who then to look for the "killer" of Nicole and Ron Goodman? Yup, good ole OJ, said he would dedicate the rest of his life seeking to find the Killer of Nicole and Ron, must be he has some type of identy problem, as the Guilty SOB has been looking at the person responsible, everytime he looks in a mirror. However, vengence for the abomination of the initial murder trial, with the completely inept Judge Ito, should not enter into the pending sentencing. Even though "justice" cries out for vengenence, it is best that we keep what semblance we have of decency as a civilized society and not give in to that type behaviour.

Maybe OJ knows that the killer is in a prison in Nevada, and so OJ intentionally committed his most recent actions so that he could infiltrate the prison and finally, at long last, find the killer of his wife!

It's a brilliant scheme, really, and all of you should be praising OJ for his willingness to go to prison to find the killer.

I, personally, can't wait for the movie version of these events.  My question, though, is this:  Would it be racist to cast an African American as OJ, or should we cast George Clooney in the part?

Greg, you should start on the screenplay right now!!  You already seem to have the basic script down, just fill in the blanks.  I think Will Smith would make a good O J, and that little time stopping guy from Heroes could be judge Alito.  Then we could make bank on the pre-quel and go back to his pro days and find the root cause for a jealous fan plotting to kill his wife and lover to frame OJ!!!   Have your people call my people.

Too bad OJ never seemed to be thinking of them when he was doing all the crap he was doing. Did he honestly think he would get away with it? His crimes took place in Nevada - a state with strickter laws than some other states. That's why he got the sentence he received. Remember, they went into the room with a gun and OJ shouted "don't let anyone leave the room". That's kidnapping, plain and simple, in the state of Nevada. Now, he paying for his crimes.

Tiger1990, why don't you please give the race bull crap a rest for a while. I followed the Blake and Spector cases and they were jokes, especially the Spector case. Next to OJ, Spector is the most guilty SOB I've ever seen. I want to see that piece of crap rot in prison just as bad as I do this Simpson scum bag. Bottom line is, the cold blooded murder of defenseless, innocent people is ALWAYS an abobination and should ALWAYS be punished, REGARDLESS of any racial crap. You use race to justify OJ getting away with murder and then use the same race card to claim he should not have been convicted or do serious time for armed robbery. Just once, try looking at a particular case SOLEY on it's merits. If you did, you would have a problem with the 1st OJ verdict and not the 2nd as opposed to the other way around.

Although I am for the Death Penalty, I also am for the "rot in prison" penalty. Either way, a deterrent must be in place. Too many are getting away with crimes that cannot be ignored.

This is a new case. Justice has been served, and the past murders are irrelevant. Except that O.J. will get what he deserves. Race is not an issue. The crime is.

see i have to agree with tiger 1990

but racism is what this country is built on, i think personally the only crime oj commited was being a white man in a black body. He forgot he was black and that the things whites have truly gotten away with like blake and others who evidence supported the murder he comitted, he couldn't get away with. He was aquited of murder meaning not found guilty. The goldmans then sue him for the murders and he was ordered to pay them money for a crime he was aquitted of. Now i am not the smartest man in the world " only one of them" but how can you be sued and found guilty of a crime in which a higher court found you not guilty. Micheal jackson is another idiot, the state of california would never get another dolloar for my ranch  or anything else after the treatment they got, dumb asses should have left california and picked up somwhere else. Look white people talking about a man over 200 pounds, i feel bad for the families but black people differ, if someone had jumped over the wall with a knife, we run not stand there at awe..

He will have his own bathroom, cable TV, access to gym facilities, his healthcare is paid for. The only drawback is he can't come and go as he pleases. I'd be willing to bet even his MEALS will be different.

He is a cheating murderer that played the race card and got away with it He had thirteen years of freedom and he made a fool out of himself. No redemption or apologies. The world would be better off with him behind bars. His greedy family can skeletonize his personal stuff as the rest goes to the Goldman's.

Paul you are correct in what you say - so many people blame race, the judge or the jury - had they actually watched the trial on TV - rather than commenting on something they never watched - they would realize the stupid cops guaranteed OJ would walk - black or white - no one could have convicted him - it was the cops and the tampered evidence - that was apparent to anyone who watched the trial - plus a poor job by the "in love" prosecution!!!

So what.  Just because he is one, and the way the blacks rioted in the Rodney King case and cheered for OJ once he got off.  I think they earned the title of a "N".

Furman stated facts.  The reason people don't like what he said is all due to the fact people don't like hearing the truth.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether we like it or not!

tywht63 - I was not talking about the cops testimony. Had you seen the trial you would remember the blood intenionally blotted on the socks, the disapperaring socks and other things in the photographs as the cops removed it from the bedroom added the blood and put the stuff back, the fact that they carried evidence around in the car for 45 minutes rather than taking the direct route - 10 minutes - to turn the stuff in. I don't think you watched the trial otherwise you would know what I am talking about. It was so apparent the cops had planted blood on his stuff to hang him, they plain over did it. It was like the keystone cops. As far as Furman - hell he was the biggest liar of the bunch - the keystone ringleader, he lost the case for them! As far as rioting in LA and letting OJ off - I think you are nuts. If you ever lived in a city during riots you would realize the blacks basically burn down their own part of town, the cops and firedept just surround the area to keep them caged in and say - "What the hell, burn it down, we don't care" - that is how it works. I have seen it several times.

Actually I was there in the LA Riots and they spread out like a plague.  I lived in the City of Santa Monica at the time and the blacks there wanted to riot as well and tried a few stunts.  Cops got their a$$ quick and then began putting up road blocks where you entered the City of Santa Monica.

So I have been there during two riots in CA.  but if they want to burn down their own areas, destroy their own businesses, guess where they head to next?  You neck of town to do the shopping, graffiting, robbing, killing, etc.  That is why crime has increased in many once good ares.  All the scum now has bled into the better arers of LA.

Unfortunately, the blacks don't see facts, just color of the skin and another black being put behind bars.  If the black community looked at the facts and see that he committed a crime, then maybe, just maybe people would have more respect for them.

The OJ murder trial was a disgrace, not because of Mark Furman, but the way the blacks rallied and cheered that a murderer got away with killing two white people.  Next time a black is killed by a white man, then why not rally and use race to get away with, then cheer, shoot, throw a parade if need be.

Defense:  He was black and I had to take him/her out because they were coming after me.

Prosecution: They killed a black man/woman because they were in fear for their life!

                                                        Verdict: Not Guilty!

This is just how stupid our court system has become.  The lady in Vegas was smart in keeping the media out and not turning her courtroom into a three ring circus like Judge Ito did in the murder trial of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Ito should have been thrown out of the courts from ever being allowed to judge another case.  He made a totall ass aout of the judicial system, and I have no respect for him.

I'd say almost 100% of the population believes OJ murdered his ex-wife.  I'm actually surprised he felt safe to walk anywhere in the public eye after his "acquittal".  Not too many would have shed any tears if someone decided to take the law into their own hands.  Normally, I believe the justice system most generally works.  It didn't in that case, and no one will ever forget it.  Even though the previous case is not admissible, they can still give him the maximum for this crime.  Maybe if he spends a lot of time in prison, he'll finally come to terms with what a lousy excuse of a human being he actually is.  His acquittal set back race relations decades.  However, karma has finally kicked in for a change.

I guess I'm the .00000000000001 that doesn't, now I believe he knows what happened there, but I don't believe he did it, but don't mind me, I'm just that .0000000000000001, and is this about true guilt, or because a white woman possibly died at the hands of a black person? Sometimes in the judicial system guilt is not the deciding factor......BUT RACE IS!!!!! Quit living a lie, call it what it is.....pure, unadulterated bigotry. I participated in a jury of a young black guy that was with 3 other guys that robbed a courier truck for a bank because the dummies thought there was money when all there was was the bank's paperwork for daily transactions. Some of these idiots beat an elderly white man into a coma, well the jury I served on, even though the judge had instructed us, if there was reasonable doubt, we HAD to return a verdict of not guilty. Well there were white jurors in the room that expressed that they believed he wasn't the culprit, but wanted to find him guilty because the others had did pleas and weren't going to be tried, so their reasoning was, "say he's guilty because 'somebody has to pay' for what happened to this elderly white man. As you well know, it was a hung jury, 11-1, and I didn't budge because you can't send people to jail on the concept of 'somebody has to pay'. Wonder how many innocent men are in jail because of bigots that think like this?????

No Renee,  If you believe this is about race, that makes you the racist.  It is  not about black and white.  The first trial was about black and white.  This is about a stupid man who thought because he was famous he could do anything and get away with it. If you think he knows who killed his wife and friend but didn't do it himself, I for one would like to hear how that is so.  How can he know who did this unless he was there?  If he was there, he either did it or watched someone else do it, which makes him just as guilty.  What you say in this regard does not make sense.  As far as your experience with a jury,  there are stupid people everywhere, white and black and brown and yellow and green with blue polkas dots.  I have served on several criminal juries in my life and all seemed to take the responsibility very seriously.  I'm sure your experience was a bad one and I applaud you for standing up for what is right.  someone should have to pay for what happened to the poor elderly white or black man.  That someone is the person who committed the crime.  The whites on your jury were bigoted racists and should not have been there.  But that doesn't mean that it is true in every case.  I think the jury in the first OJ trial(predominantly black)believed he was guilty but acquitted him because he was a famous black man and they thought they were doing their race a service and paying back the white man for holding the black man down for so long.  Anyway, I think the people who want to make everything about race are the true racists.  They are the ones who continually fuel the fires of racism and bigotry.  Is that  you Renee?  I hope not.

"is this about true guilt, or because a white woman possibly died at the hands of a black person? "

Rather obviously, this is about true guilt, not a white woman dying at the hands of a black person.  Considering the number of white woman that died in that part of the country at the hands of a black man during the same time period as the OJ trial (several a year die this way every year in the west coast, and very few ever even make it farther than a mention in the back pages.  It's a crime, not an issue of race), it is more than obvious that the media attention was due to his already earned fame, NOT his skin color.  As more and more evidence presented itself, it turned into a media circus that eventually led to it becoming the major race issue it was turned into, only long after the trial had already begun.  It's become too easy nowadays to see a crime committed by a black person against a white, and simply make the ridiculous assumption that the black person was arrested only because of his race.  Never mind that he committed a crime, or that white people committing the exact same crime are being arrested and everyone shouts to throw the book at them.  The OJ trail was not even about race, not until it was forced by an extremely racist LA black community.  It was a celebrity murder trial, California and celebrity being the key words, until race, an entirely unrelated factor, was forced in.  My uncle was stuck on that trial, as the interim deputy chief of police at the time.  A plain old regular white guy (Pomeroy, a name you might recognize if you followed the trial) who happened to be acting as chief of police in LA, was called a racist for allowing someone accused of murder to face trial, accused of being racist simply because the criminal was black.  Racism was the cries for special privileges simply because of his skin color.  Racism was the threats of riot if he was found guilty based on the overwhelming evidence presented.  And of course racism was informing a jury of the threat of riot if they did not find him innocent.  This of course was not made a threat during the civil trial, which led to an unbelievably easy guilty conviction made simply by the evidence presented.  People accused the LA police of arresting him for being black, ignoring that of course the majority of the arresting force was black, the majority of the investigaters were black, a huge portion of the town was black, and during the course of the trial several blacks as well as whites were also arrested for murder with little media attention or care.  He was a celebrity, a football player turned actor, NOT a black guy killing a white woman.  If it was just a black guy killing a white woman, he wouldn't have received any more attention that the others tried for the same crime in the same time period.  People can cry racism all they want, but just because he was black that does not excuse the crime or grant special privileges.  Obviously, the arrest started out as nothing other than guilt and turned into a celebrity crime due to his already earned fame, and it was the media and attitudes such as the one present in the question you asked that forced it into a race issue that didn't even exist.

I never did believe that the average person thought OJ was guilty BECAUSE he was BLACK.  How delusional is that theory?  They thought he was guilty because of the overwhelming amount of evidence against him!

OJ's lawyers used the race card because that's all they had to use.  The jury were star-struck by his celebrity and the callous grandstanding that his "dream team" of lawyers displayed during the trial.  The jury was a pathetic excuse for an unbiased group of people.  They apparently had no conscience or were too stupid to see the evidence as it was.  There was no one who had any reason to frame Simpson.  That's just ridiculous B.S.  In fact, it would have been almost impossible to fabricate some of the evidence that was presented during the trial.

Add to it the fact that there was clear evidence that OJ had been abusive in the past.  Nicole had photos of previous beatings.  She told her family BEFORE the murders that if anything ever happened to her, that it would be OJ and that he'd get off because he was OJ.  How right she was.  God rest her soul.  I hope she is dancing in heaven today and that Ron Goldman is as well.

OJ Simpson is the scum of the earth and he is a disgrace to the African American race.

Justice has not been served and the punishment does not fit the crime.  I expect the appeal courts to set aside the verdict and order a new hearing.  To all of you out there who feels that O.J. finally got what He deserves, May the Creator take you to the top of the Mountain and show you the future.

Holy Crap Beckwolf- We are all people of color. To state that it is all about one color against another is  living in the 60's. Get a grip. This topic is about justice and has nothing to do with race.

It would be a better world if we just  talk about man or woman, not about a person of color. We just elected a president that is half white and half black, but who cares as long as he fulfills his promises. As long as you cry about the injustices done to whatever color person you chose, you will be ignored.

                                                            Peace be with you.

We clearly did not watch the same trial or you did not watch it at all.  There is no way a verdict of guilty was appropriate in the murder trial.  The prosecution thought the trial was going to be a cakewalk and did a lousy job of presenting the evidence.  The defense was able to create reasonable doubt throughout the trial, which begs for an aquittal.

I agree with you. I watch way too many hours. I was obsessed with it. I thought he did it, but I could not honestly have given a guity verdict. The Prosecution did not make their case, they were sloppy and the lost. The Defense did a great job.  Like it our not. The system worked.

A person may be absolutely guilty, but they still have to have justice. The burden of proof is on the state for a very good reason. Popular people, powerful people will go free and weak or unpopular people will rot in jail.  Our system right now is undeniably predjudiced toward the poor, whatever their race or creed.

I do not see this sentence standing, because it appears to be a make up sentence. This is not good for our system of justice.

                                                              It is all very dissapointing.

There was no way a "guilty verdict" was appropriate in the first OJ trial?  Apparently YOU didn't watch the same trial that I watched because there was overwhelming evidence against OJ.  There were no other suspects.  No one else had any agenda or motive against Nicole.  There was blood in OJ's famous Bronco.  What more could you ask for as far as evidence?  A photo of him with the knife in his hand???  They had everything but that.

Like I said before. I have no doubt he did it. The burden of proof was on the prosecution and they presented a sloppy case.  We are not talking about a few months in jail, we are talking life here.

The Defense did a good job with their expert witnesses, especially Henry Lee, and highlighting some very slopy forensics.  The DNA should have convicted him hands down, but the lab and the collectors misshandle it. They really did. I worked for many years as Quality Control in a Laboratory.

The most resonable doubt was cast by the Prosecution, when they pulled the disasterous gimick with the glove.  I know they wanted for the jury to see OJ standing before them with that glove covered in blood. It totally backfired.

As I said, I had no doubt that he did it and I wish the Procecution had been good enough to get him convicted, They had problems with thier time line too. I kept shouting at them to get a local to show them a short cut..Believe me I wanted to see him found guity.

Maybe being shut away in jail with no one to show off to and being treated like any other offender will be all the justice there will ever be.  At least Nicole and Rons families don't have to be tortured with yet another head line about OJ or a book deal.

And no that is not fair. That Ron Goldman and Nicole Simpson are gone and he is still alive is totally unfair. I do not think there could be a punishment for him that would ever be enough to be called justice. And definitely nothing that can be done to him to recompense the suffering of the families. And no I do not think it is fair or right. I think it is a tragedy.

                                                                  {"commentId":4353033,"threadId":"435228","contentId":"2180065","authorDomain":"whyfactor"}

He went to get stuff that was taken from him and one of his cronies brought a gun that OJ stupidly used to try a scare someone. He was stupid but kidnapping? Some of the charges were trumped up. They tried OJ on feelings from the 94 trial. There were no unbiased thoughts.

As most of the comments here illustrate, most people feel OJ was guilty of the double murder but acquitted, so in their eyes this is 'justice'. He should have known after the civil suite by Goldman's parents that they would go after him for any trivial offense and throw the book at him. It even happened that way with Al Capone, who committed hundreds of crimes but died in jail for tax evasion.  If he wasn't so hot-headed he would have gone to that hotel room unarmed but equipped with his own recording equipment to show the items in question and the people holding them. Then we would have seen the other side of "justice": the cops ignoring any complaint brought to them by OJ.

I would I could have seen his tearful eyes live as he pleaded with the judge. I do not think the first case had anything to do with race it was about a sick murderer, I could care less if Nicole was black or white...he should have been found guilty.

No excuse because the law is suppose to be there to protect and serve. Now blacks do not have any pity for oj either, we feel like this he married a white lady because he was so famous a black woman wasn't good enough, then he forgot about his race, which is something other races do not do, overall he thought his @!$%# didn't stank. So good for oj, he got what he WANTED not DESERVE. had choices made bad decisions. the race card is not being played we see injustice in this because he was aquitted in the murder trial but found guilty in a lesser court for the same thing. tell me that wasn't done to satisfy white america. I have white friends who tell me all the time when we talk of these things that oj only had to pay to satisfy whites. I know they know what they are talking about. oh and yes, a lot of blacks feel like he got away with murder, but look at all the black killed throught the years by whites who got away with it. I am not racist i am real, the truth is there for all to see.

Because weather you care to admit it or not, if Tom Brady would have been aquited of killing two black people ..not one white person on this planet would have been upset. This freaking Jury was full of S**t. Talking about yes we knew about the other trial and thought he was guilty but could put that aside for this trial....THE BIGGEST LIE I'VE EVER HEARD. No ones taking into acount that the stuff he went to get was his and the basters that had it was criminal. Sure, he went about it the wrong way. The conviction rate in Vegas is much higher than the average rate in the rest of the country.  I have a friend that's a cop in Vegas.  He told me that when someone here gets before a judge they're going to jail.

And as a citizen; I understand why.  You don't have to live in Vegas long to get sick of all of the people coming here thinking that they're going to pull some scheme.  You quickly develop a thick skin for scam artists, drunk drivers, and bums in general.

First, there were guns. Simpson himself said this, when he stated that he did not know there would be guns. That is robbery with aggravating circumstances,  which carries mandatory jail time for ANYONE.

Second, the longer you, as an African American, continue to believe that the white man is bringing you down, the longer you, as an African American, will allow Jim Crow and the separate but equal doctrine to rule your life.

                                                                            Have a nice day.

Are you being serious?  Not only was that taken into account, it was the very foundation of the defense.  Now tell me this...let's say that I broke into your home even and stole your property.  Do you have the legal right to then break into my home, kidnap me, and attempt to take it back?  Of course not.  From a legal standpoint, that means exactly nothing.  Race has nothing to do with it.  Of course, I'd recommend reading the findings, the evidence presented, BEFORE making comments based on Simpson's own claims.  It turned out that this was largely simply an excuse on his part, and that he was going for items that did not in fact belong to him.  He falsely claimed that the majority of the items belonged to him because they had his signature or his likeness, when in fact by contract those items did NOT belong to him.

But let's say that every single thing there was his, ok.  Hmmm, he STILL broke in, he STILL kidnapped with the use of firearms, he STILL then committed all the crimes he was accused of.  I steal from you, you call the police, that's the way it works.  If you break into my home and kidnap me to try and get it back, you're still going to jail right along with me.  So are you saying that because he's black and the items (falsely) belonged to him, he should be excused from the major felonies that he committed?  Wow, if he was to be let off, it would signal an age where vigilantiism is considered legal and justified.  Many people feel justified in their crimes, but no matter how justified they may feel or the reasoning behind the crimes committed, they are still crimes and the courts are legally obligated to punish based on those crimes.  You can't be white, commit those crimes, and expect to not have the book thrown at you.  Why should it be any different for Simpson simply because he's black?  He's just as accountable for his actions as a white person, the rest of us would be found guilty, so should he.

                                                                            {"commentId":4307203,"threadId":"435228","contentId":"2180065","authorDomain":"rudhrach-madadh-alluidh"}

Although I believe the evidence proved beyond a reasonable doubt that O.J. did, in fact, commit armed robbery, I also believe that the underlying notion was to get him because he got away with murder. I have yet to decide if race was an issue in this case, but race definitely had a part in the murder trial.

O.J. is definitely an arrogant ass, but even that has no part in this conviction.

If anything they should have given him more! Black americans will sit all day talking sh!t about the system holding them back. Shut the f*%# up and do something! Obama did! You all say "Yes we can" for him but when it comes to yourselves its always "No we won't" because white people are always holding you back, in court they are always racist against blacks, and a black guy will never win a case against a white woman because they're always racist and biased. Get a fcking grip! Blacks will always be hated, so? Whites are hated, they get by. Jews are hated, they get by. Middle easterners and muslims are hated, they get by. I bet he looks on the Goldmans face brought tremendous pressure on the white jury(feeling sorry) who probably thought he was guilty of murder anyways(which they did). I know it would for me even if I thought OJ was guilty of murder(which he isn't). I'd feel somewhat sad at there loss but then thinking they are there for what reasons?? Oh please I'd quickly get over it.

**You ever think this was planned by the Goldman family? To let them 2 guys have OJs stuff or possessions just like it, then tip people off and have it be in a public place with sound and video around knowing OJ will get sucked into it, goldmans doing research picking location in Vegas where Judge Glass(tough and also a white woman) would find him guilty possibly 99.9% chance? Also If you dont think Judge Glass(white and female) wasn't bias than thats BS They should of picked some other male judge. Criminals served less time for stabbing/shooting people than what OJ recieve.

All non blacks, prosecutors, jurors, judge they roasted his a$$ like a pig. I'm not saying he is not guilty,he is but but he didn't have the gun and no one got hurt. He should of been able to get charges reduced, not all hit on him and get a long sentence.

Drug dealers get less time shooting someone with an illegal firearm and caught with drugs at same time than what he got. Hell I remember a 23y/o(neighbor) whos in the system already for multiple things was stealing motorcycles and they raided the place and he hopped into a van and tried to run the officers over and then fled and he only got 3.5 years. Damn.

Also agreed he should of left the US or stayed low key after this. I know the Goldmans had something to do with this. If they didn't I bet they are thanking these theives for allowing this to come and since the items should be theirs(Goldmans) technically and not OJs they'd probably drop charges right?? .

Slaves did not ask to come to america they were taken from their homeland and brutally forced to serve a master. none of my descendants were african. My great great grandmother was choctow indian, her husband was black but not a slave. I consider myself american because me and my parents were born in america.....not immigrants. so what black people want to be called is american. negro means black, we are negro because our skin is black. so i am a black american like all others and will prefer to be called that.

If he is kept away from the other prisoners is because someone might just do to him like he did to Ron and Nicole. I hope Ron and Nicole are dancing tonight in heaven.

I doubt that Nicole or Ron is dancing in heaven because their killers are still running around free. Now,America can rest;OJ's in prison, and for being stupid he deserve that. This will also end Goldsman's father and sister's chances of getting rich from OJ's money.  A job will do them both some good, and as for Nicole's sister(Denise), when did she get off drugs long enough to make a statement???  I'm glad Robert Blake (Baretta) was smart enough to lay low and stay out of the newspapers other wise America would be tryingto persecute him for his wife's death, and we all know he did it. Oh yes, and the ex-cop in California , who killed two of his, but remember now he wasn't black.  Believe are not that does make a difference, and if you think it doesn't you need to check out the desert for all those flowing lakes and streams and rivers.

What happened in 1995, however, is not relevant to the current case. That anyone actually believes Simpson is finally "getting what he deserves" because of his involvement in a celebrated trial in which he was found not guilty is a sad commentary on American society and the way in which jurisprudence is viewed by many. A jury of his peers found Simpson "not guilty by reasonable doubt" of the Brown-Goldman murders, and anyone who THOROUGHLY studied the evidence would have to agree. Were I on that jury, I, too, would have found him not guilty. The same cannot be said of the preponderance of evidence in this "memorabilia" case. He was found guilty, and he should serve time for it (assuming the case is upheld on appeal)--but the sentence is excessive and an appeals court will almost certainly reduce it substantially. Those, like the reprehensible Fred and Kim Goldman (father and sister of the slain Ron), who see this case, its outcome, and the subsequent sentencing as some kind of "vindication" are in serious need of professional help...

From the sound of it neither do you. Armed Robbery is not excusable because the gun is not loaded. It is Aggravated Robbery at that point and carries mandatory jail time.

And that holds true in any jurisdiction in the United States. Winston- Barry Scheck and the Innocence Project could really use you.

I seriously doubt that OJ didn't know, it was his stuff they were after. You have to watch who you choose to mingle with, even if your date decided to do a holdup while on your date. Race is no issue as my family has been in these United States long enough to have members who represent most ethnic heritage and frankly, I don't understand why persons label themselves as anything other than American once they have citizenship, particularly when they have never lived anywhere else.  But facts are that this person chose actions that have represented someone with little reguard for the law, persons, or relationship.  HIs own arrogance of celebrity caught up with him; he demonstrated behavior of a person who feels people, much as property belong to him- his right to dispose or collect at his whim. The property may have been his by his perception, but not in fact- and was not his to collect and most definately not by force, coersion nor threat of bodily harm.

In fact, crime between all races just continues to escalate.  You just keep on hollering racist because your hero finally got caught being ther criminal he is.  Face it man, he is just plain stupid, and you can't fix stupid.  Let it go and find something else to cry racism about.  Your continual defense of this criminal shows you for what you truly are.  You are as big a racist as anyone on here, and you think he should be freed because he has been held down by the white man.  That is just so much BS man.

Face it OJ had money before the crimes came around and Michael Vick didn't he make enough money with the nfl ? Why did he have to be a part of an illegal dog fighting organization. Thats what the problem really is there are people out here that are poor and will never get the chance that these black men have been given. Now thats two that have been given a chance here in the last year not to mention the rest of the black community that has made it and have felony charges chasing their asses to jail. So don't call it a racial thing because if it were you would only be watching white boys play ball on Monday nite. You do the crime you do the time. I have allways wondered if they were crazy or not, to make it big and then just throw it away by acting like a irresponsible kid.

He got off on the crime of a lifetime(I'm not sure he was guilty)and then takes his stupid ass out and does something like this as arrogantly, brazenly, and as blatantly as possible, and expects the american public(african american of course) to keep sympathizing with him. Well looks like he's outta get out of jail free cards. He should've taken his old behind somewhere and lived a normal life, instead he's trying to rub the noses of all those that wanted his ass to be fried, thus the t-shirts "WE GOT'M THIS TIME", and I believe the judge is going to sock it to him for old and new.......Oh well, he deserves what he gets because the bible says "pride goeth before a fall" well he's fallen, and I don't believe he's gettin' up outta this one......DUMMY!!!!

Hopefully, the next time he comes out of jail will be for his own funeral. I'm sure there will be plenty of protesters supporting this thug. For some reason some were celebrating his getting off the murder rap. I guess the old saying, what goes around, almost fits here. How about a public flogging?

Now once again, I don't think he actually committed this crime, but I think he knows or even paid whomever did it!!! But I'm just 1 person, 1 American, that happens to be black!!!!

You have to be smarter than that. I agree, since there were slaves hundreds of years ago, we should let murderers off once in a while to even it up.

I truly do not believe he committed the murders, now I believe he has knowledge about them, which is also wrong and a crime, but I don't think he did it. Oh and we as a people really have reason not to like him, he prefers white women, over black, hell he seems to prefer white people over black, but look where that's gotten him, so I don't envy him one bit, and I certainly don't feel sorry for him this time around, if they give him life......OH WELL!!!!!

Do you remember the majority of blacks celebrating when he was found not guility of murder. If a white person would have butchered two blacks and got off, you would have been running down the streets burning cars and breaking windows in protest. On a serious note; why were you so happy when he got off the first time? You know he killed those people, please don't even start with the ridiculous diatribe that he did not do it. I just don't get why there was such jubilation. If he had murdered two black women, I guarantee you would not have cared as much. Kind of like getting over on whitey I guess.

I think the Goldmans will be glad he is locked away. However, I do think the Goldmans need to go away and quit with the financial pursuit. Why should they profit from their sons death? The only way I could respect the Godman's if they committed to give every cent to charity, and they haven't said that. They want to pocket the money. That makes me sick. I agree, if the dealers are in possession illegally, they should go to trial for theft.

They have wasted their lives chasing O.J. and his wealth and have probably spent more than they've gotten--all that is  not going to bring the son back. Anyway, "vengeance is mine, saith the Lord", so they are wrong for what they are doing, and if O.J. did it, he's going to pay, if he's not already. I know his existence is tiring, constantly trying to hide wealth. That's got to be a form of mental prison where I'm free to make money, but not free to spend it, or even reveal that I have any, that's got to be draining all the fun out of having money

There has been on the majority of it.  Largely what Simpson was after did not in fact belong to him.  He claimed the property as his own against contract due to the fact that the memorabilia contained his signature and whatnot.  The remaining items that were deemed to have, at some point at least but no proof that they belonged to him at the time of his crime, are being distributed to the Goldman's based on any proof obtained that the memorabilia was not in fact the property of those who OJ kidnapped.  For the most part though, there seems to be no indication that the items belonged to OJ, much of it that had belonged to him in the past he had sold for a profit, and with this crime was attempting to reclaim that property he had already sold off.  Of course, the Goldmans also claimed rights to his book, which is now sold in stores under a new title, "I Did It, Confessions of a Killer."  I think the end is "of a Killer," but I may have the end wording wrong there, haven't passed it on the shelves in a few weeks.  Either way, he was found guilty in the civil trial and still hasn't paid the required dues years later, so any memorabilia deemed to actually, beyond doubt, still belong to him, will in fact be handed to the Goldmans by order of the court.

The Goldman's are greedy and the father had very little to do with his son before his death., Guess he felt guilty and it's been tearing him to pieces. It's time to let go of getting OJ's money. They will never have peace until they let go of the hatred and desire for revenge. I've lost loved ones to violene and it's not easy but it's necessary.
